Handmade necklace with Mantra amulet.
This Buddhist necklace has a simple cord with an amulet made of Tagua. Tagua is similar to ivory, but comes from a nut. This amulet contains the 6 Tibetan syllables of the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum.
The first sign Om is a sacred syllable found in Indian religions. The word Mani (2nd and 3rd sign) means “jewel”, Padme (4th and 5th sign) is the “lotus flower” (the Buddhist sacred flower), and Hum represents the spirit of enlightenment.
Known as the “Mani”, this is the mantra of the Buddha of compassion, called Avalokiteshvara. This mantra invokes the blessing of this Buddha.
